I think I've sat on that very bench - perhaps not quite in that place - and turned my bag out onto a scarf, hunting for my vaporetto pass, on chilly day! (I found it, in my pocket, all the time)
It looks like Palazzo Tiepolo a San Polo (to the right of Palazzo Soranzo) has finally been cleaned. Judging from old photos it was perhaps the dirtiest palace in Venice.
