  1. do you actually know the tailor/cleaner who accepts the cleaning through the window just down to the right? He has a nice shelf of free books inside the door - you probably know that of course. Lots of big flotsam from the alta on the fondamente today - a great branch washed up ...

    1. I didn't know about that tailor, Mary. I've never actually stepped foot on that bridge. Lately when I pass it I'm reminded that it's the bridge that Katharine Hepburn & her lover cross over in Summertime before a night of fireworks, both literal and romantic. They are shown entering the door to the left of the bridge.
