We've often spent Christmas in Venice - what a pity we couldn't be there this year. It's so magical, and (comparatively) tourist free. Best wishes to you for 2018, and please keep posting your insightful images of the wonderful city.
December (until a couple of days before New Year's Eve) is one of the best times to be here, Anonymous--it certainly is as a resident--which means we should keep it quiet. New Year's Eve, with its crowds, comes as something of an ugly shock after the pleasantness of the first weeks of the month. Thank you for your kind comment and wishes, and a Happy 2018 to you, too.
