    What a shame something similar cannot be held at Madonna dell'Orto to keep it open to the public.

      I have no inkling of why it couldn't be, Stephen, so can only accept the fact that such a thing doesn't happen for Madonna dell'Orto as a reminder of what I understand used to be very much the case in Venice (but is much less now, as the city has emptied of residents): different neighborhood, different world.
