I originally posted the above image last summer as one of 7 photos of last July's Festa del Redentore celebration, but my fondness for the unknown couple in the foreground always made me wish I'd posted it by itself. So here it is as a post of its own, with a new black and white version below which seems to suggest a slightly different mood.
Fine photo!
ReplyDeleteI was happy for the chance to take it, Arial. Thanks!
DeleteIt's a nice photo.
ReplyDeleteMany times while traveling in Italy I saw tourist couples sitting at the tables in total silence. Italy can inspire at least some trickle of conversation but no, it seems they are well past a stage where it's desirable or even possible.
After all the walking that's often involved in traveling or sight-seeing, Sasha, I wonder if some of those tourist couples were simply too tired to much bother with talking. And of course sometimes it's just nice to be able to take things in in silence.
DeleteWhat a lovely photo.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Susie. The guy has always reminded me of an older Marlon Brando.
