Tango under the stars--or trees--has become a weekly event here in Sant' Elena, and is a welcome addition to the neighborhood. I can hear the music through my open window as I type these words, vintage songs from the era of Carlos Gardel: a perfect accompaniment for a summer night.
Sights of a summer night, 9:30 pm: tango in foreground, kids playing soccer in the background; if we were in Buenos Aires, both the kids and the dancers would still be at it at 3 am |
All I can say is "Wow, how wonderful."
ReplyDeleteSo don't forget your dancing shoes, Yvonne, next time to you visit--well, unless it's in the dead of winter. Then bring your ice skates for San Polo.
ReplyDeleteI think I'll be renting skates, Siggie! :-) (It's been a while since I visited the Emergency department of your hospital.)
ReplyDeleteIf you're anything like the ice skater I am, Yvonne, skates are indeed likely to get you to that emergency room in no time! So perhaps it's better to stick to a good pair of walking shoes...
DeleteThis Friday, we will be having Tango again, with lessons taking place from 8-9 pm and after that, open dancing all night. Everyone is welcome!!! vincent bar
ReplyDeleteI can attest that it was a great evening, and am glad you let people know about it in advance. I look forward to the next one and would encourage others to check it out.
