Be careful, you could make this the next tourist hotspot in Venice. The folks who live there won't be happy! (That bloke who plays the saxophone in the group Ska-J lives in Santa Marta.)
Bite your tongue, Yvonne! There have to be at least one or two areas left to the locals. (I suppose Sacca Fisola is still pretty safe in any case.) Though I can't think of S Marta without thinking of that song, I've never seen Ska-J walking around there (though I've seen him performing there at the sagra.)
It's a good one, Rob. I also like the video for the one set on Vignole, showing the agricultural life in the lagoon that the vast majority of visitors to Venice never think about (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zBWUGppcNs8).

ReplyDeleteRight you are, Andrew. Have you sent him a postcard there, as he suggests in the song?
DeleteSanta Marta, I know a song about that! (Ska J again).
