It kicked off with Nicola Manuppelli reading from and talking about his imminently-forthcoming book Bowling (due for release at the end of this month by Barney Edizioni, https://www.facebook.com/TheOutlawsifuorilegge) while a large crowd enjoyed Rosso Veronese Corvina and Bianco Veronese Garganega: two organic wines produced by Fasoli Gino (http://www.fasoligino.com/it/).
A complete list of the remaining five events of the reading series--with both the books and the wines to be featured--appears below. Any one of the evenings, or all of them, would be well worth checking out.

I've that link to a friend who is now in Venice and I think he'll attend the next party, thank you!
ReplyDeleteDa niente, Sasha, I hope your friend will enjoy it!
DeleteI've sent, I mean, of course...
ReplyDeleteOh, my very favourite book seller, with the nicest smile in the world! :-)
ReplyDeleteYes, he's hard to beat when it come to booksellers, Yvonne--and smiles, too.
DeleteI love these photos - everyone bundled up on a chilly night in a fish market to hear authors reading their work. Lovely!
ReplyDeleteWhen I told my wife and son where I was going to to attend the reading, Erin, they both said, "It will stink!" And, yes, I do recall that the fish market usually smells of fish, even after hours. But on this particular night I was sick and couldn't smell a thing (or drink wine, alas), so I can't tell you if it actually did. I hope this detail doesn't ruin it for you--maybe it will give it more character? But I'll have to go to the next one and with a clear nose now find out the aroma of fish market is part of the nice ambiance.
