Early Spell Checker as Painted by Tiepolo: Cappella Sagredo

What writer wouldn't appreciate the kind of editorial assistance depicted by Giambattista Tiepolo high up on a pendentive of the Sagredo family chapel in the church of San Francesco della Vigna?
Such pieces were an inspiration for the masters of Stalin's Barocco - in the years of scarcity they molded plaster very skillfully into cornucopie overflowing with fruit, a lot of public spaces of the period were - and some still are - decorated with the images of excess.
The figures of a mentor and a pupil were among the most important in the genre - a boy or a girl absorbed in a book or a picture and an elderly worker or a teacher leaning from behind, ready to offer an advise.
The totalitarian art is supposed to be more restrained and heroic, mounds of Earth's bounty gave the Stalin's Barocco a feel of a more epicurean Utopia.

I just happened upon an ancient Roman example of what you write of about, Sasha, the cornucopia. I took a photo of it and I hope to post it soon...
