No, I had to get all the way to Certosa, but at the Rio de San Isepo just beyond the Viale Garibaldi, I took a short cut through some quiet canals in Castello near Sant' Elena that left me with only the broad canal between the stadium and Certosa to cross. Sant' Elena, or just near it, was the place where I could leave behind the big heavily-trafficked canal that runs to the Piazza, so as far as I was concerned I was safe once I reached that area. And fog is not a problem in narrow urban canals. (Which is more detail than you asked for!)Steven Varni, aka Sig.
