  1. Again, brings back so many memories of that time. always loved Venice in the winter - even have images of it under (some) snow - 'tho it never seemed to stay long! Thank you, yet again.

    1. Winter is a great time to be in Venice. If one is lucky enough to have a boat, it's never so cold that you can't go out in it in winter, whether under motor power or oar. When we first moved to Venice in 2010 we'd get at least one good snow a winter, that might stay for a day or 2. By the time we left in 2021 sometimes we'd get no snow at all, or no accumulation. I believe there's a reason for this, but here in the US all references or allusions to the scientific hypothesis that would explain it is now banned from all government documents and websites (and of course the 6 conglomerates that own 90% of US media become ever more timid about referring to it themselves).
